New Feature: Upload Restrictions

Call admins now have the ability to restrict which types of files are allowed for uploads.

The new setting is in two places: the form builder and the Publishing Module. In both cases it is a safelist (as opposed to a blocklist) meaning authors are only allowed to upload files with extensions you specify. Or put another way, authors are prohibited from uploading files not in the list.

Expanded Feature: Default Answers in Role Forms

Call admins can now use profile information for default answers in role forms!

Previously, the only two questions in a role form that could be auto-filled with information from a user’s profile were name and organization—both of which were hard-coded into the form. And with any other question you could only define static text for a default answer.

Now, the question-settings dialog has an additional Default Answer option for all text questions, including name and organization. You can still provide specific text to auto-fill the answer, but now you also have the option to select a data element from the user’s profile.

New Feature: Strict/Loose Text Limits

text limit screenshotFor a while now, the ProposalSpace form builder has allowed call admins to place limits on text fields. For example, you could set a 200-word limit for a bio field or a 75-character limit for a title field. Any limit, however, was purely informational, which meant an author could exceed it and still submit the proposal. (The system would highlight the answer for call admins and reviewers, though, so they could easily tell if the author went over the limit.)

Now, if you set a limit on a text field, you can tell the system what to do if the answer exceeds the limit:
